Newlywed Home Tour: Dining Room

Being a newlywed and moving across the country from the Midwest to the East coast can present its own list of challenges. During the transitional period as we waited for time to pack the pod (in hindsight, avoid taking on this endeavor during the holidays if at all possible...) and then waiting for everything to arrive, there was about a 4 month period of time where having dinner consisted of eating on the sofa, which gradually moved to the bar area after we finally settled on barstools. Patience pays off and finally our dining room set from Omaha arrived, along with a few DIY projects before it all came together. Patience pays off though as it was definitely worth the wait.

Note: Here is a "BEFORE" of what we originally had to work with:

Our dining room had two major DIY projects: the cream buffet and the dining room table. See the transformation of the once mustard yellow buffet on our Furniture Makeovers page, along with a step-by-step guide. The Dining Room table "Before & After" will be posted there shortly as well.
